Get our local picks for things to do near Dolne Miasto (Lower Town).
Dolne Miasto sits right behind the Żuławska Gate, south-east of the Old Town — a historic craftsmen's district with a network of canals, locks and listed red-brick buildings. Neglected for decades, it's been steadily renovated and is regaining its character.
It's one of the most interesting addresses if you want the Old Town in walking distance but want to avoid the seasonal crowds on Long Market. Galleries, cafés, studios and new venues keep opening here, while the district itself stays much quieter than the centre.
Transport is easy: Long Market is a 10-minute walk, Gdańsk Główny station is 15. The neighbourhood slows down in the evening, which makes it a good base when you want quiet after a day of sightseeing.
